Aprašymas
Hemp is a unique and surprising plant that contains a whole class of compounds – cannabinoids. For example: CBD, THC, CBGA, CBN, Δ8-THC and also CBDA, also known as cannabidiolic acid. What exactly is CBDA and what’s so special about it? You’ll find in this article!
WHAT IS CBDA (CANNABIDIOLIC ACID)?
CBDA is one of the main cannabinoids found in the hemp plant. It was first isolated in Israel, 1965. The majority of the substance can be found in the leaves of the plant, but it is in the flowers and stems, nonetheless. CBDA is the acid form of the compound you already know – CBD (CBD-Acid). One of the most important characteristics of this cannabinoid is the fact that it’s more water soluble than regular CBD, meaning it is better absorbed by your organism.
If the hemp plant or it’s products are heated or improperly dryed, the CBDA gets broken into CBD and CO2 in a process called – decarboxylation.
Cannabidiolic acid interacts with your nervous system in a different way than the classic cannabinoids (CBD, THC, CBN etc.). CBDA binds to other brain receptors, in result mimicking endocannabinoids (the cannabinoids that are naturally found in your brain). This means that CBDA helps with inflammation, and regulation of serotonin levels, which can cause positive effects in the realms of sleep, coordination, eating habits and emotional stability. Some research suggests that CBDA can be used as an anti-psychotic and anti-seizure drug.
No negative side effects have been observed with the use of this compound. Some people report feeling energized and active, but CBDA won’t make you feel sleepy or lethargic like in the case of THC.
