Cannabis is a unique and amazing plant that contains many valuable chemicals — cannabinoids. For example, CBD, THC, CBGA, CBN, Δ8-THC, as well as CBDA, or cannabidiol acid. What exactly is the CBDA and what makes it special? Find out here!
WHAT IS CBDA (CANABIDIOLIC ACID)?
CBDA is one of the most important cannabinoids in the cannabis plant. It was first chemically isolated and proven in 1965 in Israel. It is found mostly in the raw parts of the plant — the leaves, but it is undoubtedly found in the rest of the cannabis plant. CBDA is the form of CBD (CBD-Acid) you already know. One of the most important properties of this substance is the fact that it is more soluble in water than ordinary CBD, which in turn means more efficient absorption in the body.
During the heat treatment or drying of cannabis or one of its products, most CBDA is broken down into CBD and CO2, the so-called decarboxylation process, but in most cannabis oils, tincture products and teas, it remained chemically unchanged.
Cannabidiol has a slightly different effect on the human nervous system than classical cannabinoids (CBD, THC, CBN, etc.). CBDA stimulates other receptors in the brain, resulting in the deactivation of substances already known in our body — endocannabinoids. This property of CBDA is associated with relieving and reducing swelling and inflammation, as well as regulating serotonin levels, which can have a beneficial effect on your sleep, coordination, eating habits, and emotional stability. Some studies suggest that cannabidiol acid also has similar effects to antipsychotics and anti-seizure drugs.
No significant side effects have been observed with CBDA. Some people say they feel a little energized and more active, but this substance will definitely not make you sleepy or lethargic, as it could be with THC.
